Questions about sleightly.com

What is it you do, exactly?

Sleightly.com is an internet portal related to magic products and resources. Our goal is to serve as a directory that will link to every magic-related website on the internet. Additionally, Sleightly.com will add its own unique content.

How do I list my item?

Getting listed is free and easy. Simply click on the category on the left-hand side that you like, fill in the form at the bottom of the page, and click send. That's it. Our editorial staff verifies each item and adds it to the list.

I'm a magic vendor and I've got about 300 products. I'd prefer not to type in 300 listings. Is there a faster way?

That's probably not an issue. Contact me at erlandish@gmail.com, and if your catalog is already in an electronic form, we should be able to work something out.

Can I be listed on multiple pages?

Yes. If your website has both a blog and a store, for instance, you can register it as a magic blog and an online store. You can't be listed on a page that has nothing to do with you, though.

I was able to list a DVD review, but I couldn't list a Trick Review. Why can't I list my item?

At the moment Sleightly.com is very deep in alpha stage, and not every page in the directory is available yet. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I just clicked send on my Book Release notice, but when I went back to check, it wasn't there yet. What's going on?

To prevent spamming, each listing has to be checked before it goes up. Don't worry, if you're not spamming, it'll be up there quickly.

Why did my listing's text get changed?

Sleightly.com reserves the right to edit every listing for spelling, grammar, accuracy and objectionable content.

Why did my listing's URL get changed?

For magic products, URLs point to the primary author of the product and the primary producer of the product. Other URLs (such as those pointing to a third-party magic store selling the same product) are only allowed if the primary author and/or producer allow it. You will have to seek their permission and email us.

There's a listing for an item that's incorrect. How do I fix it?

Email erlandish@gmail.com straight away with the correct information and we'll fix personally. It is very likely somebody wanted to list your item but didn't have all the correct information for it. We greatly appreciate all feedback on this. If you have a product or website that is being referenced in the directory incorrectly, we very much want to fix it.

I can't find a listing for a webpage (or a product, or a store, or...). Where is it?

It's very possible that the item's not been added yet. Hopefully Google can help you. If you end up finding it, consider adding it to our directory.

So who's running the show?

Sleightly.com is run by Andrew Musgrave. You've probably never heard of him. He has written under the name "B.D. Erland" on "Ye Olde Magick Blogge", and "erlandish" on several magic forums. In all likelihood you've never heard of any of those names either. You can email him at erlandish@gmail.com.

Wait, I've heard of that blog. It has good and bad reviews for some products, and I didn't like an editorial he wrote. Will Sleightly.com reflect his bias?

No. Sleightly.com's directory includes any accurate magic-related listing, so long as it does not promote exposure. It is completely free of his opinions.

I think this project is interesting. Can I help?

At the moment, the only real way to help is to add listings to anything that you can think of off the top of your head. If that sort of thing interests you, you're an angel from heaven.
