Going in a radically different direction for today’s entry, here’s Kent Gunn performing the Fun Shop Cups and Balls. It’s available for purchase here, and if you’re interested in seeing his other work, here’s his Youtube channel.
If you don’t know Kent Gunn, go hunt down his posts over on the Magic Cafe, and you’ll get an idea of what he’s like. His posts seem to show him as a man who’s both devoted to the classics (his interest in Erdnase, for instance), but he’s also interested in pushing new ground in terms of method and technique, as can be seen in this Magic Cafe thread devoted to re-examining the concept of Final Loads in cups and balls routines.
I don’t necessarily agree with all of his philosophies on an abstract level, but it’s difficult to argue with some of the results he’s come up with.
